Urine Collection Protocol

Urine Specimens can be collected for drug, nutritional, chemical exposure and forensic litigation testing:

Follow is the collection protocol for providing an acceptable specimens for testing:

1. Get a clean, sterile (if possible) plastic container with tight fitting lid.

2. Catch a mid stream clean specimen approximately 45 ml or 1-2 ounces.

3. Cap the container tightly.

4. Place container in a second sealable biohazard bag.

5. Place the sealed specimen along with the Requisition for Testing in a small box or bag and send to ExperTox laboratory in Airborne Express or other overnight courier container.

6. Call ExperTox Laboratory if you have any questions at 281-476-4600.

Note: It is not necessary to place specimen on ice if using overnight service.
