Miscellaneous Specimen Collection
Protocol
Following is the procedure
for properly collecting Miscellaneous Specimens for
testing purposes.
For saliva, tissue, sweat
or miscellaneous biological and non biological specimens
be sure to prepare the specimen as follows:
a) Insure the specimen is of sufficient
quantity for testing.
For saliva, tissue or
other miscellaneous specimen place into a clean sealable
plastic container, i.e., tube, jar, or Ziploc bag. Note
date, location and time of collection on lab testing
requisition.
For sweat specimen, utilize
alcohol swab and rub around base of neck, underarms
and or creases of elbows. Place these specimens into
a clean sealable plastic container or Ziploc bag. Note
date, location and time of collection on lab testing
requisition.
b) Place specimen and
completed lab testing requisition into another bag
or box and address to the laboratory along with the
required fee for testing.
c) Be sure to include phone number,
fax, address, or email for purposes of discussion
and reporting of results.
