Blood Collection Protocol

Blood Specimens can be collected for drug, nutritional, toxicity, chemical exposure and forensic litigation testing.

Follow is the collection protocol for providing an acceptable blood specimen for testing:

1. Go to your local physician or phlebotomist and request the collection of one gray top (sodium fluoride) and one royal blue (heparin) tube.

2. Place the specimen in a sealed biohazard bag.

3. Place the sealed specimen along with the Requisition for Testing in small box which will protect the tubes from crushing and send to ExperTox laboratory in Airborne Express or other overnight courier transport container.

4. If you have any questions please contact the laboratory at 281-476-4600.

Note: It is not necessary to place the specimen on ice if being sent overnight.
